Read the Bible in 2011 ◊ Week 32: Friday
“When he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
Daniel 6:20
Friday’s Bible reading is Daniel 1–6. I would guess the events and visions of Daniel make it the best known prophetic book—even to those who do not believe in Christ. The dramatic stories of the faith and courage of Daniel and his three friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, are famous, and even those who can’t remember the name, Belshazzar, are familiar with the saying, “The handwriting on the wall.”

I do want to take the time to write about this wonderful book, however, I was out of town yesterday, and I’ll have to try to expand this post tomorrow. If you’ve never read these chapters, you’ll enjoy them. They are rapid reads with their enthralling accounts.
