Read the Bible in 2023 ◊ Week 21: Job & 2 Corinthians
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.The last daily Bible readings for Job and 2 Corinthians were this week, and because these books both speak for and to those who suffer I wanted to post a beautiful new song, Walk With Me, from Honeytree.
“The first song she has been able to complete after her husband, J.R. Miller, went to be with the Lord in 2018. Walk With Me celebrates the comfort we receive from the Lord and the fellowship of brothers and sisters who are sensitive to weep with those who weep.”1
I can’t find the lyrics online. I assume because the song is so new. This is what I’ve been able to put together from listening, and the auto-closed captions (auto-cc isn’t always accurate).
Walk With Me
Walk with me cause I can’t see the way to go,
Blinded by tears in this valley of shadow.
I’m not asking you to explain the reason for my loss and pain,
Just take me by the hand,
take my hand.
When you take my hand
we will walk by faith,
and Father God, the source of consolation in all our tribulation,
He will be our peace.
This comfort we receive brings hope
to go on living,
Empowers us for giving hope
to everyone we meet.
In my path of grief I find a holy dignity,
And walking by your side there’s wisdom and security.
Our companionship will be a beautiful legacy.
And we will comfort others, comfort others,
With the comfort we receive.
Our companionship will be a beautiful legacy.
And we will comfort others, comfort others.
We will comfort others with the comfort we receive.
May the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, comfort you through His Holy Spirit, His Word, and through others who will walk with you.

I’m using Michael Coley’s Bible reading plan (one page PDF to print) to read through the Bible in 2023. Each day my posts are on different books because he divides Bible readings into seven categories, one for each day of the week: Epistles, The Law, History, Psalms, Poetry, Prophecy and Gospels. There’s more information on his plan and other ones at Read the Bible in 2023.
