Jeremiah 1–6: Broken Cisterns & Living Waters
“For My people have done two evils:
They have forsaken Me,
The fountain of living waters,
To hew for themselves cisterns,
Broken cisterns
That can hold no water.”
Truth For The Heart
“For My people have done two evils:
They have forsaken Me,
The fountain of living waters,
To hew for themselves cisterns,
Broken cisterns
That can hold no water.”
“What a help you are
to the one without power!
How you have saved
the arm without strength!
What counsel you have given
to one without wisdom!”
It is from Yahweh
that a person’s steps are established,
and He delights in his way.
“Because you have rejected
the word of Yahweh,
He has also rejected you from being king.”
“Do not be afraid, for am I in God’s place?
As for you, you meant evil against me,
but God meant it for good
in order to do what has happened
on this day, to keep many people alive.”
Let no one seek his own good,
but that of the other person.
And He woke up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Silence! Be still.”

To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.”
But He knows the way I take;
When He has tested me,
I shall come forth as gold.”
