Proverbs 17–18: Death & Life in the Power of the Tongue
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Truth For The Heart
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before Yahweh our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
He who abides in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
“Go, inquire of Yahweh for me and the people and all Judah,
concerning the words of this book that has been found…”
Then Hezekiah took the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it,
and he went up to the house of Yahweh and spread it out before Yahweh.
And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
“What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying,
‘The fathers eat the sour grapes,
But the children’s teeth are set on edge’?”
