“Thou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Splendour”
For you know the grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though He was rich,
yet for your sake He became poor,
so that you through His poverty
might become rich.
Truth For The Heart
For you know the grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though He was rich,
yet for your sake He became poor,
so that you through His poverty
might become rich.
“…the blind receive sight, the lame walk,
the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear,
the dead are raised up,
the poor have the gospel preached to them.”
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men
with whom He is pleased.”
He who testifies to these things says,
“Yes, I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
“So will My word be
which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what pleases Me,
And without succeeding in the matter
for which I sent it.”
“Comfort ye, comfort ye my people,”
saith your God.
Then beginning with Moses
and with all the prophets,
He interpreted to them the things
concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
Having canceled out the certificate of debt
consisting of decrees against us which was hostile to us,
He also has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
As a result of the anguish of His soul,
He will see it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
As He will bear their iniquities.
And Jesus, uttering a loud cry,
breathed His last.
And the veil of the sanctuary
was torn in two from top to bottom.
What Thou, my Lord, hast suffered,
was all for sinners’ gain;
Mine, mine was the transgression,
but Thine the deadly pain.
