“What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying,
‘The fathers eat the sour grapes,
But the children’s teeth are set on edge’?”
Truth For The Heart
“What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying,
‘The fathers eat the sour grapes,
But the children’s teeth are set on edge’?”
Then the glory of the God of Israel went up from the cherub
on which it had been, to the threshold of the house of Yahweh.
For the lips of a strange woman drip honey
And smoother than oil is her speech;
But her end is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two‑edged sword.
My flesh and my heart fail,
But God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever.
Then the fire of Yahweh fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

Save me, O God,
For the waters have threatened my life.

And Solomon did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and did not follow Yahweh fully, as David his father had done.
