Last year I wrote two blog posts that I think are especially appropriate as we survey the results of the election here in the United States. I’ve always kept links to these posts at the bottom of my blog’s front page, and I’ve already had several hits on the post on Habakkuk: The Day of Distress & Hinds’ Feet. I’ve reposted it back at the top of the blog. [Note: The post on Habakkuk is now back in the archives, but you can read it and the one on Lamentations by clicking on the links].
The other post is Lamentations: Desolation & Hope. The book of Lamentations contains these famous verses:
This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
May God use His Word to give you hope and to set your feet on the solid ground of His lovingkindnesses and His compassions.
